I hated writing essays when I was in school and I only started to enjoy writing after I had children. It was life's experiences that gave me the inspiration to write and when I decided to write, I knew I needed to learn how to write, so I signed up for online courses with a writing school in the UK and followed the course modules until I felt confident enough to self-publish.

Knowing that it takes a lot of self-confidence sending a manuscript to traditional publishers when many repeatedly turn you down, I thought it would be a good idea to start with self-publishing ebooks and see what happens. It's all about trial and error and lots of research but after becoming more familiar with the way self-publishing works and the possibilities that it offers, I started with my first ebook and continued with other ebooks.

Smashwords has given me the possibility to sell my ebooks on different platforms with the click of a button. What a wonderful way to sell books. I love it!

I write about couples falling in love because it is such a special moment that the memory of the beginning stays with you for the rest of your life. My books are about Italian romance because I live in Rome, Italy and I often stop to look at young Italian couples walking through the cobblestone streets and I can sense their attraction and love for one another. When I write about these moments in my novels, it brings back memories of when I first fell in love in Rome many years ago.

I mainly write series books about Italian romance and women's issues in the news such as stalking, rape, breast cancer, femicide and also what is mostly in the news in Italy, which is organized crime and politics. I have several outlines for future romance series planned but my next series will be a spin off from one of my novels.

That is a good question! My full-time job keeps me away from home ten hours a day and then, it's grocery shopping, preparing dinner for the family, being a mother, a wife and taking care of our beautiful doggy! Not much time for anything else!

I start off with an idea for a series and I write down the names of the characters in the series. Then I decide the personal aspects of each character (where they live, what car they drive, what they do for a profession and then who they fall in love with, and how many kids they’ll have). Then I write an outline of what the story could be about, selecting a particular topic in the news. Once I have an idea of the characters in the series, I start writing and the moment I sit down at my computer with an idea of who the characters in the book are and an idea of how they meet, the rest just happens as I'm writing.

I love to read romance stories.

My desk at work is clean and tidy all the time. I am extremely organized and prepare Excel tables to keep track of just about everything.
My desk at home ... that is a different story. We live in a 100sq m flat in Rome and unfortunately space is not a privilege that I have so I try to keep papers tidy in different plastic folders and bags but sometimes, I dream about having a larger home with my own office, an old fashioned desk and a wall to wall library for my precious books that I've collected since I was a child.
