Interview with I.M. Hunter

Describe your desk
My desk is rather neat. An 'L' shaped desk in the corner of the office. Paper that needs my attention is stacked to me left, everything else goes immediately into 'File 13.' A hutch on the longer end of the desk houses extra supplies, paper, pens, envelopes, all my essentials. A printer rests on top of the hutch. A simple layout but it does it's job.
What is your e-reading device of choice?
I choose to read on my iMac. When I am on the go I read from my iPad.
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
Everyone who has a child knows it doesn't matter what inspires you, your getting up anyway.
What's the story behind your latest book?
The story behind Heroin Love is what has happened to my family and I over the past five years. The protagonist Kevin is based off of one of my family members who completely destroyed our once close family.
How do you approach cover design?
I wanted to create something that was simple yet sexy. A picture that would capture the reader's eyes as they looked anxiously for their next book.
What are you working on next?
Currently I am writing the next installment to Heroin Love.
Who are your favorite authors?
Who doesn't love a good Dr. Seuss book? Recently I have enjoyed E.L. James' 'Fifty Shades.'
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
I enjoy spending time with my family. We go swimming, go to the parks. When the baby goes to sleep, my wife and I enjoy catching up on all of our shows.
Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
The first book I ever read was 'Green Eggs and Ham' by Dr. Seuss. I must of read it about a thousand times. The rhyming, the illustrations just captivated me as a small child. It inspired me to want to write stories that people could immerse themselves in and enjoy over and over again.
What do you read for pleasure?
Believe it or not what I enjoy reading the most is Yahoo! News. You get a little mix of everything the news, entertainment, parenting tidbits, I thoroughly enjoy it. As books go, I enjoy reading romances, suspense, and sci-fi.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
I get the most satisfaction when I could convey my story onto my readers. Knowing they enjoyed a story I have told means the world to me.
