Interview with Gabrielle Ford

Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
The first? It was definitely Cat in the Hat. I can't remember what impact it had other than joy and happiness.
Who are your favorite authors?
I have so many. Right now, I enjoy Andrea Cremer and John Steinbeck.
How do you discover the ebooks you read?
I just search for them and if it sounds interesting. It's for me.
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
Life. Just the idea of me being alive to do the things I couldn't have done the day before.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
I learn new things. I started learning guitar, but I'm always writing.
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
I actually do. It was a short story called 'My Life with You'. I wrote it in the sixth grade. It was about my life without my dad.
What are you working on next?
I'm currently working on something. I wouldn't necessarily call it a book or story, but it's called 'There's Something about Cameron'.
Describe your desk
My desk. I have three. One has a computer and is very neat. My main desk is quite neat with a few out of place folders and stray sheets of paper. The last desk is a disaster because it's my drawing desk. It's cluttered with drawing pads and color pencils and such.
What do your fans mean to you?
I don't have many fans, but the ones I have mean the world to me. They're the reason I write everyday.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
My greatest joy is when I share my work with others and they enjoy it. There is no greater joy.
