The summer before my junior year of high school, but I've been imagining the bare foundation of my series since I was 7.
What motivated you to become an indie author?
I like to do things a certain way, and I didn't want to be pushed towards what markets want. I believe writing should be full of people trying new things, as well as employing old tactics. It should be a diverse landscape.
What are you working on next?
My second and third book. I'm trying to branch out even more with them.
Who are your favorite authors?
I mostly like literary authors and philosophers, like James Joyce and Michel Foucault. But I really love anime. I love Eichiro Oda's One Piece series; it's the most mind blowing thing, but the world is huge and fun. And I also love Katsura Hoshino; her art style in D. Grayman is awesome and I really enjoy her story!
