Interview with Hope Zane
Published 2023-02-26.
What motivated you to become an indie author?
Honestly the allure of complete creative freedom. You might have noticed that my stories tend to sprawl. My series grow series. I like that indie publishing gives me the freedom to chase story ideas down each and every rabbit hole and to write the kinds of stories that might not be published through traditional publishing houses.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
I love spending time with my characters! To be honest, I have a deep fondness for all of them. As I'm telling a story to you all, I'm also telling a story to myself. It's great motivation to keep going because I always want to see what happens next.
What are you working on next?
I'm currently working on the fourth book in the Fragile Ghost series, which starts in Heartline and stars my character Nice. Books 2 and 3 are scheduled to be published this year, and I'm very excited to show you what Nice and Ren have been up to and to introduce you to a new character, a fey incubus named Rook, who plays a big role.
