Interview with Huda K.

How do you approach cover design?
Well the cover design embodies the essence of the book and therefore then works hand in hand with the title. The Matryoshka Doll, or The Russian Nesting Doll usually has more of itself with in each doll. So typically we would expect this to be the case with this doll as well, However- this is NOT the case. The doll is empty and hollow, but not completely! She has demons inside her. The demons go from a light color to a darker color signifying that they are not tangible and and merely abstract ideas that become more surreal as they progress upwards. More can be read from inside the book itself.
What do you read for pleasure?
I like to read poetry and i enjoy any type of book- provided it is not a love story or a cliche.
What is your e-reading device of choice?
I love my iPad!
What book marketing techniques have been most effective for you?

When did you first start writing?
I actually have no idea, but i think around grade 4 or 5, we were supposed to write a poem for class and i just loved rhyming words... and ever since then- the magic of words drew me in!
What's the story behind your latest book?
Well its an anthology- a collection of poems, and it's a peek into a troubled mind. I wrote these poems to show that people who do feel this way- are not alone and its okay to experience emotion.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
The greatest joy is writing itself. to magically string sounds and utterances to sentences and meanings... is absolutely intoxicating. *-*
What do your fans mean to you?
They mean the world to me and are my motivation keep trying harder. I love each and every one of them! <3
What are you working on next?
I am working on the next anthology...hopefully to come out by next fall.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
When I'm not writing, I'm studying, sketching, painting, or running. I like to keep myself busy- but i also enjoy just spending time with myself as well.
