Interview with Inez Deloach

How did you approach the cover design for World of Lies?
I knew as soon as I seen the model she was my Skyler and the cover was designed around one specific pose.
What are your five favorite books, and why?
1. Lover Awakened by J.R. Ward, because the story just seem to grip me. Zsadist's struggles were heart-wrenching, and to see him over come them was touching. I always get a tear when he holds up the note in the end.
2. Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins, because I think Katniss Everdeen is an amazing heroine stepping up for her sister. Her journey into the games had me on the edge of my seat.
3. Clockwork Princess by Cassandra Clare, what can I say this book made me cry, laugh, then cry again. I love the way Cassandra ended this series!
4. Lover At Last, by J.R. Ward, the air plane scene with Z and Qhuinn, WOW! And how can anyone not love the ending in that book? Qhuinn dressed up... This question should have been top five series it would have been easier to answer. I have to fight myself from adding all J.R. Wards books in these five slots.
5. Twilight, by Stephenie Meyer, because it's a beautiful love story. And if you must know this girl is team Jacob! Although I am happy with the way his story ended I still like the wolf better!
Describe your writing environment, and what inspires you.
My writing environment is normally where ever I feel most comfortable at the time. Got to love laptops! My inspiration comes from dreams, and clouds. Yes I said clouds. Remember that game find the picture in the clouds well ever since I was a little girl I played that with my dad and what do you know years later I am still seeing dragons and knights within them.
Who are your favorite authors?
J.R. Ward, Suzanne Collins, Keri Arthur, Sherrilyn Kenyon, Jeaniene Frost, Karen Marie Moning, Richelle Mead, Stephenie Meyer, and Cassandra Clare
What do you read for pleasure?
Paranormal romance is definitely my guilty pleasure.
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
Yes I was in 6th grade and it was about my brother. I called it Mr. Peanut because he was always so nutty (funny). It was mostly based on our trip to the hospital he worked at, at the time.
What are you working on next?
World of Strength, book two of The Fire Chronicles.
Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
The first book that impacted me was Island of the Blue Dolphins by Scott O'dell. I was in third grade and it was the first book to really open my eyes to what reading could be. I remember feeling so bad for Karana living alone on that Island.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
With my family.
How do you come up with character names?
Sometimes the name comes with the character in the developmental stages, and sometimes I am inspired by other sources. For example; I used to game with a guy who played melee class characters. So when I needed a warrior's name, the name he used popped into my head because 90% of the time he was a warrior. However I dug up and borrowed a retired name.
