Interview with Israel Barbuzano

When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
I ripped off X-COM for a class story. I felt real proud of my ripping off abilities.
What is your writing process?
I open the laptop or sit down in front of the PC and start typing.
Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
The first "serious" book I read was Isaac Asimov's Fantastic Voyage II. I was deeply obsessed with the story and would re-read it for years on whenever I could no longer remember the name of all the characters. It cemented my love of reading books.
How do you approach cover design?
I think of a pretty image and then draw it. Then I photoshop the drawing. REJOICE.
What do you read for pleasure?
What is your e-reading device of choice?
Stealing my wife's kindle.
What book marketing techniques have been most effective for you?
Sobbing in quiet despair.
Describe your desk
It's flat.
What motivated you to become an indie author?
The establishment's utter disregard for my existence.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
Coming up with creative ways to torture characters.
What are you working on next?
Getting through the day without stabbing anyone.
What is the folly of the human condition?
Existence under the constant threat of a violent death.
