I have always been attracted to the unknown as far as having a creative mindset is concerned. The mind is a place where ideas and theories can be explored safely. There is never a routine day when writing in a heightened state of mind. So, for me, I have always frowned upon mundane and non-creative work environment. Writing takes the cap off my mind in a way that no external force can replicate. My Myers-Briggs profile type is INTP, if that helps. I have always been interested in sex and relationships and the many variables that take shape when people are in Eros or agape. For example some will do just about anything under certain conditions. Writing allows the analytical faculties inside me to mix and match my experiences from the real world as I probe love and sex.
What do your fans mean to you?
I see fans as sort of a pressure gauge that allow the Author to function within the realm they are trying to function in. For me, the fans are more important that myself. They are thinking, living creatures who are attempting to escape certain facets of the physical world. There are many worlds, and so, a fan reading one of my stories must have an uninhibited sexual streak which I am happy to be a part of.
How has Smashwords contributed to your success?
The allure of Smashwords is very distinct in the way it can take a relatively unknown Author and propel them into the spotlight. To illustrate, there is no middle man, or agent of you will; the success is codependent on the reader of one’s work and whether or not the readership is sustained by the Author. In essence, it is the consumer who dictates the Authors success. It helps if one thinks of this dynamic as a mirror placed in front of them (the Author) which exposes their strengths and weaknesses.
Who are your favorite authors?
Robert Greene! His work has been influential in my life over the last fifteen years.
What is your writing process?
I try not to be regimented with steps or outlines. It's more of how I see through my warped mental lens. Somehow, music seems to be involved, however.
How do you approach cover design?
Cover design is somewhat subjective and misleading, but I try to pick a cover design that conveys the theme of the story. Believe it or not, I am motivated by pictures and every story has been motivated by a picture. They are real people, but to answer your question, there is minimal editing and I try to keep it as close to the original as possible.
What do you read for pleasure?
Science, technology and legal materials.
What are you working on next?
A sexually charged, religious comedy.
Smashwords Interviews are created by the profiled author, publisher or reader.
