Interview with JW Patrick

Noisy children, frantic wife
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
Yes. An adventure story that changed from third person to first which the teacher liked as it showed how involved i got in telling the story.
What is your writing process?
I keep notebooks all over the place with folded down page corners for different characters and plot ideas. Then, when there's enough ideas for a whole book I transfer all the ideas into one notebook dedicated to that book and only when that's pretty much full with scenes and character descriptions written out longhand do i start typing.

Use of Weapons by Iain M. Banks. Thrilling sci-fi with an awesome twist.
Endymion by Dan Simmons. Peerless sci-fi world building but heart breaking too.
Julius Caesar by Adrian Goldsworthy. A great communicator who effortlessly marshals mind blowing quantities of information.
Void Series by Peter Hamilton. Breathtaking scale and imagination but such an exciting writer too.
