Interview with Jacob Mossberg

What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
It is an outlet for my crazy ideas
Who are your favorite authors?
Franz Kafka, Jens Bjørneboe, Astrid Lindgren. Robert Ludlum, Lars Saabye Christensen, Stephen King, Robert Jordan and of course J.R.R. Tolkien
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
Yes - it was a story I wrote in 8th grade. My teacher thought it was an interesting piece of fiction and gave me an A, but she did make complaints about it being to violent. In her defense the main character did kill several dozen nazis with gasoline and a match
What do your fans mean to you?
All 4 of them are very special to me
Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
Yes - Tom in the Mountains by Ingvald Svinsaas. I remember feeling sad at the end when Tom (a cat) chose a life in the wild instead of going back to the city and "his" humans, in retrospect I think it was a happy ending - I think it is a book intended for a more mature audience then someone who's only 10
What motivated you to become an indie author?
Several of my teachers in both norwegian and english have told me I write good enough to publish - So I did
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
Coffee
How has Smashwords contributed to your success?
None thus far :D
What is your writing process?
Drinking unhealthy amounts of coffee, smoking way to many cigarettes, and banging my head against the wall repeatedly
What are you working on next?
I am working on a suspense thriller named 'The Man from Port Silencé'
