Interview with Jacqueline Rives
What are you working on next?
I actually have so many ideas for different books that i'd like to work on its really hard to pick. I think I would probably work on the sequel to Blood Doll's though.
Who are your favorite authors?
Hmm...i'd have to say L.J Smith, J.K Rowling, Virginia Henley, Kresley Cole, Colleen Gleason, Anne Rice, Sherrilyn Kenyon, William Shakespeare, and Edgar Allan Poe.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
When i'm not writing i'm usually helping take care of my family, singing, playing a game, or working on some artwork.
What is your writing process?
My writing process is crazy. I come up with a idea and start to add more ideas to it, then start thinking of characters and do some character bio's, and lot's of research.
How do you approach cover design?
I make my book covers myself so normally i try and pick a scene from the book i wrote and try and bring it to life the best I can.
What do you read for pleasure?
I usually read Historical Romance, or Gothic Romance.
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I grew up in Kansas. Kansas really didn't have much influence on my writing the events in my child hood did.
When did you first start writing?
The youngest i can remember is 8-9 years old.
What do your fans mean to you?
I love when people read my books, I enjoy hearing their feed back and opinions. Everything they say encourages me to keep writing.
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
No sadly, I do remember a lot of the stories i've written but not the first one.
