Interview with Jacqueline Seewald

Congratulations on your story "Shroud" being part of the Collidor project, which is published by Reality Skimming Press. How does it feel to publish this short story?
I’m delighted to have this story published by Collidor.
"Shroud" deals with new biotechnologies defying death, what has you motivated to write this story?
I read a lot of nonfiction science lit as well as fiction. I’m always interested in new technologies that can save or improve human life. So the technology in this story is as much fact as fiction.
You have published novels and short stories in many genres, ranging from Romance to Science Fiction. What is the driving force behind your writing?
I love to write. I love to tell a good story. I enjoy the challenge. In fiction, I do write in many genres from literary to mystery to romance to sci-fi and even fantasy. I try to rise to the challenge of writing what is unique and meaningful. I’m always striving to improve my abilities as an author.
What are your favorite kinds of stories to read?
Actually I will read just about anything as long as it’s well-written. But I do particularly enjoy mysteries.
Reality Skimming Press brands itself as 'optimistic sci-fi.' Tell us what that phrase means to you.
A lot of sci-fi deals with negatives. Most of what I write ends with positives. Reality Skimming Press wants to mainly leave readers with a good feeling. That’s my attitude as well.
What projects are you currently working on?
My lastest novel, The Killing Land, is an historic Western romantic thriller from Five Star/Gale in their frontier line, available from Amazon and lots of libraries in the hardcover edition.

Prior to that, Luminosity published a Southern Gothic romance entitled Dark Moon Rising, available in print and as an e-book in all formats.

My next book is a mystery with Intrigue Press entitled The Inheritance. It won’t be out until the fall. I’m awaiting the final edits.

I have a novella in the current edition of Sherlock Holmes Mystery Magazine. A number of short stories are forthcoming in a variety of publications.

I am currently working on a literary novella that my husband encouraged me to write.
