Interview with Jane Peskara Audrey Valentine

How do you approach cover design?
Well till now? I only made the covers with WORD very simple just different colors and fonts :) But for my real bookcovers i plan to buy pictures and create my own bookcovers.
What is your writing process?
Hmm there is none, i often read or hear that authors have processes or schedules, but i dont. Well i am not published yet and also have no publishing house or such so i dont really have a deadline :) I write when i feel like it. Lately not that much, my inspiration is kinda lazy. But yeah sometimes i write for hours and then i am totally into it, but yeah i discovered just now that i need to make it more well detailed and such so i edit my novels now for the second time, i mean i am older now, more experience, more books read so i know how my books should be but surely wont write 100000 words just because its wanted, when the story is told it is told but to be honest i do try to at least reach 60000 words with them now. And well all my ideas are in a notebook(about 40) and well details to the stories and such as well so i dont forget them. Not that easy when u have so many different ideas to keep them all in the right order.
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
Not really i mean if u count the essays i wrote in elementary school as well. But my first "longer" story was about a girl who fell in love with a guy, thought then he would lie to her and love her best friend i wont tel u the end :) was called FALSE LOVE it had only 5438 words but yeah i was about 14 or so back then.
Well no damn the first story i ever wrote was when i was about 9 or so, it was called "Prince Charming or Frog" very short one but yeah that was the first, and a story about pirates at the same time :)
How do you discover the ebooks you read?
Well either i discover them because authorfriends suggest them or i just look around and search for books, at the moment i cant buy ebooks cos i dont have a creditcard so i can only download them for free but already have over 20.
What are your five favorite books, and why?
1) ME BEFORE YOU by Jojo Moyes - absolutely hearttouching and heartbreaking. A story about Will who is disabled and cant move or do anything alone, he lost his will to live...and Lou who does everything to convince him from the good future he can still have, they even fall in love with each other but in the end he decides to die nevertheless
Not only an awesome Lovestory but also discusses the question "Letting or helping ppl to die is right or wrong?"
2) DIVISIVE by John Tucker - the first book of a for me totally unknown author and friend on FB that i read and i was just captivated from page 1. Its a Thriller and very dark minded i love that and its the first one in a trilogy.
3) The choice by Nicholas Sparks - well he is for me the greatest writer when it comes to romance. I love the books but this one is my favorite well maybe because it doesnt have a happy end.....
4) The Surrogate by Tania Carver - well thats how i like my thrillers, with details and cruelty
5) Granny Dan by Danielle Steel - wonderful romance novel about a young ballet dancer.
BUT i have more favorites believe me :)
What do you read for pleasure?
Thriller, Romance my favorite genres :)
What book marketing techniques have been most effective for you?
Hmm i didnt use anyone :) besides my authorpage on FB and well "just" networking with other authors, exchange reviews and interviews with them, having my own group for writers on FB and well being on various social networks to "promote" myself and to stay updated and in touch with other writers :)

Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
Well i was born and raised in Vienna/Austria i still live here :) Hmm not much i mean the only thing i think austria is doing to my writing is not supporting we dont have that many famous writers except about history :)
When did you first start writing?

What motivated you to become an indie author?
Well just the fact i love writing and always dreamed about that one day at least one person(who is not a friend or family member) reads my book..maybe even likes it :) And well because nowadays its almost impossible to find a publishing house i decided to become and indie author even though i think its hard to become a favorite there :) because nowadays everyone can call himself a writer it was never so easy....
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
Well the fact i can dive into all those worlds i create....i can see all the stories in my head, how the ppl look, how they kill or love all this......Pure joy and well to even think about touching others with my books is awesome and worth every effort :)
What do your fans mean to you?
Everything, i mean what would a writer or any other "star" be without them? Without fans we have nothing.
Also they are the ones who buy our works, and money is never bad :)
But i just love them i hope they will stay my fans after reading my books LOL Fans make my work even more important and me even happier :)
