Interview with Jean Fondren

What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
I get a wonderful sense of fulfillment when I write. It's a form of creativity that brings knowledge along with the use of imagination, depending on how realistic the story will be. While I enjoy learning, even trivial things, I truly enjoy the pleasure of allowing my imagination to run free. It's taken me to wonderful places until I realize the kitchen floor could use a good sweeping. Once I start on a project, I'm focused on it which means I don't multi task very well
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
Food, shelter and London. Not necessarily in that order.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
With my Grands, dinner with friends, or chatting to my international friends online.
Describe your desk
Oh my!
What is your writing process?
My process is archaic. I enjoy sitting on my porch, kicked back with a cup of coffee, with pen and paper in hand. I'm most comfortable with a pen in my hand. Once a freelance pen and ink artist, I'm quite used to creating with one. In my eyes, the only difference is that now I give others the freedom to use their imagination through my words, instead of focusing on my imagination through a drawing. Of course, I later transfer what I've written to the word processor.
