Interview with Jenna Adams

When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
Spending time with my husband and two children.
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
The first story that I ever wrote was Seduced By Darkness, an erotic vampire story. I love vampires and who doesn't love sex?
What is your writing process?
I don't have a process. The characters in my head speak and I write.
Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
One of the first stories that I ever read that impacted me was A Woman Of Substance, by Barbara Taylor Bradford. I fell in love with the book. I also really enjoyed The Thorn Birds, by Colleen McCullough Loved both books.
How do you approach cover design?
I usually purchase Pre-made covers.
What do you read for pleasure?
Steamy romance or horror.
What is your e-reading device of choice?
Kindle
Describe your desk
My kitchen counter
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
In the Midwest. The winters are long and give one time to daydream and write.
When did you first start writing?
A couple of years ago. I also write horror and fantasy under another name. I'm a full-time writer now and love it.
What motivated you to become an indie author?
The fact that I can publish my own stories and at a lower price. I have been offered publishing contracts, but I really enjoy being an Indie.
How has Smashwords contributed to your success?
Definitely.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
Finishing the last sentence. Writing a book takes time and patience. When you finally get to that last sentence and are happy with what you've created, it's really a joy in itself.
What do your fans mean to you?
As a horror writer, I really do love getting emails from them. I also support aspiring authors and guide them when I can.
What are you working on next?
A Vampire Story. Not erotica, however. The stories that I created under the pen name of Jenna Adams are more for pleasure.
