Interview with Jens Hoffmann

When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
Well unfortunately I have to go the most of us.
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
Oh yes I do! It was in school and we had to choose between three boring topics...just awful. Guess what....I did not get the best mark :-)
What is your writing process?
My writing process depends on my mood. Actually I need a place where I feel comfortable...and some inspiration of course.
Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
The first story I ever heard was a fairy tale by Hans Christian Andersen which my grandma used to read for me and my brother before bedtime. It was called "the big Klaus and the small Klaus"....two brutal brothers who killed their grandma and I guess each other as well. We loved it!!! Think I have to read one day to my little nephew...:-)
How do you approach cover design?
I have a good grafic designer and we develop the ideas together
What do you read for pleasure?
Actually I do not read that much. But I really like scandinavian thrillers.
Describe your desk
There is no desk to describe as I prefer writing in bed.
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I grew up near the Danish border at the coast of Baltic Sea. But I cannot say that this surrounding influenced my writing.
When did you first start writing?
long time ago....but my first book in 2010
What motivated you to become an indie author?
I worked for about three years on Simon Knox and the Prophecy of Asragur and I did not want to spend another three years on waiting for a publishing contract. I just want to check out what I can do with my own Ideas without being influenced by others.
