Interview with Jez Strider

What do your fans mean to you?
When I first published Vampire's Eve two years ago, I said if one person enjoyed the book, I would be happy. This still holds true. Every person that stops by Facebook, emails me, or leaves a review to tell me they liked the book mean the world to me. They keep me motivated when I doubt myself, help me if they find an error in the book or I need opinions, and I see the ones who interact with me often as friends, not just fans.
What are you working on next?
I'm currently working on getting my entire Vamp Life Series formatted for Smashwords, along with my other books. I'm also writing book three in my Vampire Takeover Series. I think it will be the last one of those, but you never know!
Who are your favorite authors?
Stephanie Andrassy, Arthur C. Clarke, Ray Bradbury, Christine Feehan, J.R. Ward, Madeline Sheehan.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
I spend a lot of time reading, of course! I also like to play video games and binge watch TV series that I'm behind on.
How do you discover the ebooks you read?
Most of them are recommendations from friends and authors whose Facebook pages I like or they like mine.
What is your writing process?
I think about the story in my mind constantly, playing the scenes out like a movie. When I'm actually writing, I sit at the computer and just type it out. I don't outline much outside of my head. I also listen to music while I write. It's usually an Italian Traditional station on Pandora, but it depends on my main character's personality, too. I listen to what they would like or what fits the situation they're in.
What is your e-reading device of choice?
I love my Kindle. I was one of those people who were die-hard paperback, and I still love paperback, but I like being able to buy a book at any time and have it immediately, read in the dark, and make the text larger!
Describe your desk
It would take me all day to describe the variety of clutter on my desk - if that's any indication. Now I feel like I should be organizing.... I'd like to say there's a method to the madness, but there's really not!
