Interview with Joe Rasselor

What is your writing process?
First wrestle a match. Then wrestle a second match. Watch some matches in between. After that, let it inspired me to write a wrestling ebook.
Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
Nope. However, I do remember the first wrestling match that I had. It made want to wrestle more. Later I decided to write ebooks for wrestlers.
How do you approach cover design?
I wrestle a match and try to snap-down someone's face in the mat. Then I take a photo of the mat and use it in the cover design. Hey, do you want to wrestle a match?!
What is your e-reading device of choice?
Kindle. I provides the most real wrestling ebooks. This may change in the future if a device out wrestles the Kindle for real wrestling content.
What do you read for pleasure?
Wrestling books, college wrestling websites, and the news about wrestling.
What book marketing techniques have been most effective for you?
I will wrestle for food!
Describe your desk
It is large. It has two circles. One circle is ten feet in diameter. The other circle’s diameter is 28 feet. Oh, wait. Did you want me to describe my wrestling mat or my desk? What’s the difference?!
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I grew up on wrestling teams. My experiences, teammates, coaches, and the smell of newly cleaned mats have all had an effect on my writing.
When did you first start writing?
In kindergarten, I had to write, “I will not have wrestling matches on the grass during recess” a hundred times on the chalkboard.
What's the story behind your latest book?
I’m watching a lot of college wrestling matches on You Tube. It’s very inspiring.
What motivated you to become an indie author?
Indie?! If I was ever good enough to wrestle in the Olympics, it would be for USA!!!
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
Wrestling.
What do your fans mean to you?
I remembered when I was wrestling a match 2-2 with 10 seconds left. The team score was also tied. I escaped and got the win for my team. I loved how the fans cheered.
