Interview with Ethan Sharp

What is your e-reading device of choice?
Amazon Kindle
What do you read for pleasure?
I enjoy reading Southern Gothic type style books. Crazy in Alabama has got to be my favorite.
What book marketing techniques have been most effective for you?
Facebook. I am a social media junkie and love using Facebook.
Describe your desk
A mess. Need I say more?
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I grew up in the country in a very rural area. I attended a small elementary and Junior High and High School. I believe this influenced my writing because I was able to go out in the woods and play alone. It was there that my imagination ran wild. And I got one on one help from writing teachers because of the size of my schools.
When did you first start writing?
In 5th grade. That is when I fell in love with writing.
What's the story behind your latest book?
A southern ghost story. Opens up with a tragic event from the past and then skips forward to present day as a group of kids uncover those secrets hidden in the past.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
To be able to use my imagination. God gave me a big imagination and I love being able to use it and for other people to enjoy it.
What do your fans mean to you?
Everything. I love it when people tell me how much they love a book or preview to a book. They are the reason I keep writing.
What are you working on next?
I haven't decided. I have a lot of stories rolling around in my head.
Who are your favorite authors?
Mark Twain and Mark Childress
