Interview with Josef Wright

Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I grew up in rural Indiana, surrounded first by the city and then by rural surroundings. The slow rustic appearance of the place I live has given me ample time to write because aside from working there is little if nothing to do here. However, the quiet contemplation of people in this area has begged me to create writing that asks the important questions about the nature of humanity and our place in this universe.
When did you first start writing?
I began writing at the age of about 16, I had written before then but my wording wasn't very well written until that point. I put my pen down from time to time when I felt I couldn't think through the fog, but I began to really delve into my writing about 22, shortly before I began going back to college again.
What motivated you to become an indie author?
My mother's mother, may she rest in peace, began discussing her poetry at a very young age. We would have long discussions about my schooling and her art. From that point I found that several other authors came into my life, and while many of them have passed I still hear their voices influencing my writing.
