What's the story behind your latest book?
On each page a friendly little toucan is looking for its home, but on the way, he find adventures, friends and happiness.
How has Smashwords contributed to your success?
Smashwords opens us the doors for our dreams to become reality. It is very good!
What motivated you to become an indie author?
I like the fact that I have more freedom over the published content. The inhumane treatment of authors by the legacy publishing industry. The digital books help a children the importance of preserving the environment.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
Picture books require a great deal of hard work and commitment, but seeing the enjoyment of children, it's worth all the effort.
What are you working on next?
I'm working on the series "Little Tooky, The Lost Toucan" future books. And the stories become more thrilling than ever!
Who are your favorite authors?
I like of Ernest Hemingway, Theodor Seuss Geisel and Charles Monroe Schulz. I am also enjoying the Brazilian writers, Monteiro Lobato and Euclides da Cunha.
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
Jehovah god, my family, my pets, my stories and the life.
What is your writing process?
It all starts with an inspirational idea; after that comes the making of both the storyboard and the final script, along with my son Daniel. Sometimes, little changes are made, enhancing the fictional course of the story. The final picture books are thus unpredictable.
What book marketing techniques have been most effective for you?
Making videos to promote my books on You-tube.
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I grew up in Brazil, where is the world's largest tropical rain forest. We're surrounded by jungles, animals and wild nature. From the influence of this incredible environment arose my passion for animals and their way of living.
What is your e-reading device of choice?
Ipad Apple and kindle.
