I first started writing when my family and I moved back to England from living in Perth, Western Australia. My youngest child had started full time education and I had time on my hands to pursue this new chosen career. I had been developing the idea for Muse for some time but finally got the opportunity to put pen to paper when we moved to Hertfordshire. I always wanted to write. I love reading books and wanted to see if I could rise to the challenge of becoming an author.
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I would say that where I grew up strongly influenced my writing. I was born in Sheffield, which is in the north of England, close to Manchester, and Harrogate where the story of Muse is set. Although the characters are fictitious, there are indeed elements of their personalities that have come from people I have encountered in my life whilst growing up in Yorkshire, some more than others.
What's the story behind your latest book?
Muse is about a boy meeting a girl under tragic circumstances. It is a contemporary romance novel about forbidden love and triumph over adversity.
What are you working on next?
I have just finished a sequel to Muse entitled Desire. I hope to have that available very soon.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
I am a full time mother of two. When I am not doing that job, I try to find the time to write. When I am not writing, I like to read or go to the gym.
What do you read for pleasure?
I am a romantic at heart. I love the classics, however, I also enjoy books that you can read in a day or two. Take a look at my profile page on Goodreads to see the books that I have read and are currently reading.
