What motivated you to become an author?
Joy. I am happiest when I can escape into the imagination from visualizing stories through the written word.
What are you working on next?
I have multiple projects going, but my next book to be released is Your Life Is Calling! This is a little different than my other books,. This book dives into self-help, motivation and inspiration. And who couldn't use more of that in their lives?!
What do your internet friends, family and fans mean to you?
My fans are the world to me. Without fans none of us would be able to do what we love to do on a grander scale. Personally, I don't have a lot of Facebook (internet) friends, but the ones I do have are all considered family. They include my actual family or people that I have grown up with. Whether I went to school with them or one of my siblings did - coming from a small town has afforded me an very large extended family. There are a lot of great memories with these people. Between them and my fans around the world, I am one very lucky person.
How has Smashwords contributed to your success?
Through Smashwords I am able to publish my book on different formats around the world and in many different languages. Without Smashwords' ability to generate that large scale audience, most authors (including myself) would not be able to fulfill our dreams of touching millions of lives with our books.
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
This is a simple answer for me. My desire to impact at least one life in a positive way every day inspires me to get out of bed each day. Whether it is with my family, my writing or small random acts of kindness, I never doubt that my actions (however small) can make a large difference.
What is your writing process?
Well? I don't have one. Sometimes it's messy, loud and inconvenient, and other times it's scheduled and quiet.
How do you approach cover design?
I know in my mind what I want the cover to look like, and then I hire a professional to bring that image to life! Lol. I would love to give a shout-out to Cora Graphics! Her work is amazing!
Who are your favorite authors?
I've been a devoted reader most of my life. I have too many favorite authors to list on demand, and it would be unfair if I didn't list them all. I read all genres, so there are a lot!
What is your e-reading device of choice?
I stay up many nights reading or lying in bed with my iPad.
