Interview with Kalel Eihctir

Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
I had a book given to me when i was about five called 'The little sailor', and in those short few pages i became mesmerised with the published word.
How do you approach cover design?
It needs to encompass all aspects of the story or at least create an image that relates to the main content of the story.
What are your five favorite books, and why?
All of Eric Lustbader's works, after reading 'Ninja' was when i truly decided to write more prolific books and also how i wanted them to portray the characters.
What do you read for pleasure?
Even though i find erotica a pleasure to write, i also find it a pleasure to read. You can evoke certain depths of your own characteristics without offending others while it can also make conversations with partners a little less awkward by having content you can discuss
Describe your desk
This may be hard to believe, but for the past seven years i have typed 99% of my work out on the steering wheel of a truck.
How has Smashwords contributed to your success?
In the short period of time i have put my work into smashwords, the reality of who is interested in my particular kind of intellectual writing is evident and in time i may be able to adapt to what specifically people want to read and how they prefer to read it.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
Finally getting all those thoughts and ideas onto a editable medium so further down the track i can extrapolate them into stories, novels, comics or even inventions.
What do your fans mean to you?
Hopefully all the people who read my work find they need to read it more than once to completely understand it and one day i can bounce ideas and concepts off them so the connection can be permanent.
What are you working on next?
I have a quadrilogy in the works of which i have only been able to finish one quarter. That will be my next task and hopefully the start of my career in publishing.
Who are your favorite authors?
I have many favourite writers, but Eric Lustbader would be at the top. His style gave me the threshold of how i would want to write.
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
Never, ever stop. Something must peek your interest enough to go on. Help others or do what is expected of you without question.
The dream ignites the passion, how could you not do enough to get what you ultimately desire. I've written for thirty odd years with no time to do what I want. I make the time.
