Interview with Kami Partridge

What is your e-reading device of choice?
My husband just recently bought me a Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 8.0. I had a generic tablet before, but I love my Galaxy.
Describe your desk
My desk? Wow....I really have a desk, but as of lately it's my laptop desk that I use while sitting in my bed. This way I can still watch TV and be relaxed wtih my furbabies at my side.
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I grew up in Michigan as a kid, then we moved to Arizona. Neither place influenced my writing.
When did you first start writing?
I wrote short stories as a kid, but it wasn't until about 6 months ago when I started really writing. My husband wanted me to write him a story, which I did.....then he encouraged me to continue to write more. That's when I wrote "Lost & Found". I had a blast writing it and decided to keep going with more books.
What's the story behind your latest book?
Well since I'm currently writing 2 books at the moment, I'll tell you about my first book.

It's about a guy who kidnaps a young girl to use as his ticket to get out of the lifestyle he was in. He was going to sell her as a slave and then retire. But things changed the more time he spent with her and he fell in love with her. He had a hard time deciding what to do, but he went through with the auction and sold her. Many years past and a friend told him his girl was going to be at the auction again and that she was in a bad place. Trey knew right then he had to get her out of the situation she was in. He made arrangements to be at the auction even though he'd not been in that scene for many years. He ended up buying her back and spent the time getting her back to the girl he fell in love with.
What motivated you to become an indie author?
My husband. He was behind me writing in the first place. He really liked my first book after I finished it and encouraged me to publish it.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
Coming up with a character and going through their developement, as well as all the trials & tribulations. I like seeing them from beginning to end.
What do your fans mean to you?
My fans are great!! I love each of them and have enjoyed talking with each of them when the chances arise. Without them, I wouldn't write! I wish I could talk to them more and meet them to personally thank them for their support.
What are you working on next?
I have 2 new books in the works right now. I don't have a title for either of them yet....but both are different from each other and from my first book.
Not sure which one I'll finish first....but I'm liking both of them so far. One is a little more erotic than the other one.
Who are your favorite authors?
I have several!! Jamie McGuire, Colleen Hoover, Molly McAdams, HM Ward, Tymber Dalton, Sherri Hayes, Sylvia Day & EL James.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
I love to read. Other things I like to do is spend time with my family, be outdoors even though we don't get to do that alot here in Arizona. Spring and fall are my favorite months so that's when we get out most of the time to go 4 wheeling and shooting. I also watch a few of my favorite TV shows and play with my babies. (my furkids)
