Interview with Karen Frances

What is your e-reading device of choice?
I have a kindle, which goes everywhere with me, from the hairdressers to the beach.
When did you first start writing?
It's only in the last year and a half that I started writing again. I used to write a lot in my teenage years, but circumstances and lifestyles change. I have put my family first over the last 20 years
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
The greatest joy for me has to be hearing others enjoy my book. The messages I've received from around the globe, have meant the world to me. That has to be the most fulfilling thing ever.
What do your fans mean to you?
Everything.
What are you working on next?
I'm currently working on the third book of the Captured Series, this book should bring an end to Libby and Alex's story. But there is another book planned for this series surrounding Libby's brother Ethan. Who knows there could be two books on Ethan, his is a story that needs to be told.
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
First and foremost my kids. I have 5 children and along with my husband they are my world. They are all completely different, challenging and loving and most importantly unique.I love them all dearly
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
With having the 5 kids, I'm always busy, school runs, football, sports clubs with them.I also enjoy keeping fit I try and do 5 gym classes a week with friends. I also help run our family business, I do accounts and payroll. I love walking my dogs. I enjoy reading, cooking and eating. Most importantly I love spending time with family and friends.
How do you discover the ebooks you read?
There usually recommended by friends.
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
No I didn't until my mum told me about it and it all came flooding back. It was about two friends coming home on a dark night. They got lost on a country road, stumbling across an old house, where they took shelter from the weather. Only to find out the house was haunted. My mum has it in her house.
What motivated you to become an indie author?
I fell into becoming an indie author by accident. I had written the first book purely to see if I could, it was only meant to be for me. But my husband and best-friend both read it and told me to do something with it. And after pushing me for a few months I gave in. Now I'm so glad they both encouraged me.
