My greatest joy of writing is to express my feelings and experiences through character development. Characters are the essence of every story. I love creating their personalities, their souls and building their world. I often fall in love with them while writing, of course I should also say or hate them if they happen to be the villain. Characters are the jewels hidden in my treasure chest of stories.

I grew up in the small town of Guyton, Ga. Just outside of Savannah, Ga. Living in the south, gave me the inspiration to share my stories from the hearts of family and friends over the years. I wrote short stories and poems, that reflected true southern values. Those values have been imprinted in my soul and has greatly influenced my love for writing.

I had over the years written poems and short stories for family and friends. But, my serious writing began after I had retired about five years ago and I was able to devote my time to it.

The Trilogy - A Heart of Steel, is the journey of a woman's life.

Men and women who grew up in the 60's and 70's in the south, were faced with making difficult decisions. Often times those decisions were influenced by their parents and/or family members. They were torn between following their hearts and doing what was right. Being the good boys and girls, most of them chose the Southern Traditional Values, as we call it.

What they didn't realize was how those decisions would shape their lives forever. There were lessons of love, heartache and 'what if's' along the path's they chose.

A Heart of Steel, will touch the hearts of the readers.

My motivation to become an indie author was the flexibility to write when I wanted to. Traditional publishing forces you into deadlines and agreements. Writing for me is enjoyable and I don't want the stress of having to meet deadlines. Also, to maintain control over my stories.

I love the suspense of John Grisham and the love stores by Nicholas Sparks.

When I'm not writing I love spending time with my children and grandchildren.

I read Mary Kay Andrews... her work is fun and entertaining. She keeps you smiling and laughing.

I spent a few weeks in Key West Florida a few summers ago and got the inspiration for my next novel. It will be the journey of a man's pursuit for love, after he discovers a box of letters left in his mother's home. The letters captivate his heart and he finds himself on a wild and emotional search for the women he barely remembers.
