What book marketing techniques have been most effective for you?
Reaching out to communities of readers who have a connection to the book and/or it's topic. It's basic marketing - who has an in interest in the topic and how/where can I most easily reach that community of readers? That's pretty broad, though. Specifically, writing articles in trade publications for people of specific community, doing presentations to groups who will have an interest in the book, posting comments in online discussion groups, getting the book into the hands of a "thought leader" who will help spread "word of mouth" about the book.
