Interview with Kristin Monteith

What are you working on next?
The next book I plan to publish online is short fairytale-like story.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
Reading, not only does it inspire but reading other's works helps me see how much variety there is to writting even within a genre.
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
Yes, it was in second grade about a queen who had made everything in her kingdom peaceful and when she died they put her sword in her gravestone.
Who are your favorite authors?
John Green is currently holding the favorite author title for me. I'm also a big fan of Salinger and Rowling and Austen.
What are your three favorite books, and why?
Paper Towns, Catcher in the Rye, and the Great Gatsby because each is very laden with symbolism, which is my favorite part of any literary piece.
What do you read for pleasure?
Currently young adult and coming of age novels.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
The process of how words become something more than just a scramble of letters.
Describe your desk
Covered with pictures and inspirational quotes. No work can actually be done on my desk because of how much stuff I pile on it on a regular basis.
