Interview with Kristy Rulebreaker

What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
The joy is in being alone while creating something. And later, in being connected with someone who will read it, and who will understand it.
Describe your desk
Mess, mess and mess.
What do your fans mean to you?
My fans mean a lot to me. They are confirmation that I am not doing this for nothing, that there is someone out there, who can find something in my words, who can relate, or find inspiration.
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
Sometimes, it's really hard to find the inspiration to get out of bed, but then I think about my family, and friends, and I get up for them. And sometimes I think, maybe I have some unfinished work to do, to leave a trace on Earth. :)
What is your writing process?
I don't have any special process. It's important to have a paper and pen or laptop in my hands, and the cup of coffee or tea. When I can't find inspiration, I usually turn on some music, read something or go for a walk.
What do you read for pleasure?
I love, and I always did, reading novels and poems.
What is your e-reading device of choice?
I bought Pocketbook reader, and I am very satisfied with it. I didn't have any other reader before, so I can't say which one is the best. :)
Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
To be honest, I don't, but I remember when we learned a first poem in school(I don't remember the title) how happy I was. And no, I didn't like the school. :)
When did you first start writing?
The first time when I started to write, except for my school assignments, was when I was 14, I think.
Who are your favorite authors?
My favorite poet is Dobriša Cesarić. His words are so simple, but so meaningful. :) I also like many other poets and novelists, for example: Marija Jurić- Zagorka, Victor Hugo, Maya Angelou, Charles Bukowski, Emile Zola, Agatha Christie, Langston Hughes, Leo Tolstoy, Tin Ujević, Vesna Parun and many others.
What are you working on next?
I am writing more poems, and I am also writing short stories.
