Interview with L.A. Kragie

Published 2014-08-14.
What do your fans mean to you?
First. I really want to reach and engage with young adults who like science. I hope to inspire their heroic dreams and fantasies of themselves as scientific super heroes. This is what Michael Crichton did for me, and I want to pay it forward.
Second. I want to give my science buddies some fun and exciting reading as way to stay up to date on some of the latest topics. I'm putting the intrigue inside a thrilling suspenseful wrapper, and letting them tear it open to get to the core.
Third. I love feedback, discussion and debate; I want to see through the eyes and minds of my readers. I learn so much and it stimulates me to write so much more.
What are you working on next?
"The Bat Cave, a Vampire Chimeras Sequel."
** Sequel currently on hold due to Real Life pandemic events occurring -- are too similar to the novel's plot.**
The characters from Vampire Chimeras will come together again to investigate a pandemic in the Middle East. It will involve Egyptian Tomb and carnivorous Vampire bats, and of course, a 'Bat Cave'. Like "Vampire Chimeras", this will be a real science mashup pulled together from 'what if' scenarios. But instead of Maya culture, this one will have some Egyptian mythology infused into the story. And it will have a few subtle refs to the Batman franchise, especially the Dark Knight trilogy.
Who would play the characters in a Vampire Chimeras movie?
Yes, readers tell me that Vampire Chimeras is perfect for an action film. Here are a few suggestions:
Rachel Weisz to play Diana Rigsby
Daniel Craig to play Joe Woodhaven
Emma Stone to play Juliette Grace Rigsby
Johnny Depp to play Jean-Paul Fermier
Adam Beach to play Tom Talisman
Adam Rodriguez to play Dr. Antonio Domingo
Brittany Anne Snow to play Becca Sunbrok
Iqbal Theba to play Dr. Dar Patel
Ed Weeks to play Dr. Lewiston Firth
