What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
As I write, I discover.
What do your fans mean to you?
I do not seek fans. rather people who love to think and question existential issues. I love discussions with such people.
What are you working on next?
I am collating and editing a volume of letters my mother wrote to my father during W.W. II when he was at sea.

Among many, I like the work of Luis Alberto Urrea, Barbara Kingsolver, Daphne Du Maurier, Anne Tyler, Jimmy Santiago Baca, Pablo Neruda, Oliver Sacks, Kurt Vonnegut, Jane Austen...
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
The aroma of coffee, aerobics classes, writing, an adventure, appointments.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
Reading, friends, sitting in the patio listening to wind chimes, watching lizards on the patio wall, and thinking about what I am writing, chores.
How do you discover the ebooks you read?
I am new to the world of ebooks.
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
Yes.
What is your writing process?
Ideas come to me as I drift off to sleep. They often need many rewrites.
Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
Yes. The Pokey Little Puppy. I liked the puppy's curiosity and felt bad that he was punished for it.
How do you approach cover design?
I want the cover design to tell a story in pictures.
