Bringing my characters to life.
Describe your desk
Semi-organized. Pictures of my family, candles, writing books and a betta fish room mating with a African dwarf frog all adorn my desk.
Who are your favorite authors?
Catherine Anderson, Samantha James, Nicole Jordan and Sabrina Jeffries.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
I live on a ranch and so I care for many animals, including chickens, rabbits and dairy goats. I love spending time with my animals, especially my Labrador retrievers. I also love to bake, read, go camping, and play adventurous games like Skyrim.
Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
Yes. It's called "The Silver Kiss" by Lynn Erickson. This story launched me into the romance novel world. I've been hook on romance novels ever since.
How do you approach cover design?
I like to capture the essence of the story on the cover. Sometimes it may be a scene from the story, a pivotal scene.
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I grew up in rural Southern California. Ranch life, farm animals, and western themes are prominent in my writing.
What motivated you to become an indie author?
I guess, more advantages than disadvantages. Having control over every aspect of the business.
How has Smashwords contributed to your success?
Smashwords has been a tremendous help. Exposure being the main reason.

What are you working on next?
A novel based in America 1887 era. It has a western theme to it.
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
Yes, my book "My Forbidden Mentor". I learned a lot from that novel as I spent several years working on it. I've learn more since that book, and I am still learning.
What is your writing process?
More by impulse and inspiration than a scheduled time.
What's the story behind your latest book?
The inspiration for writing "A Brother's Promise" came from the 'Levirate law' in the Bible. I thought it would make for an interesting story.
