Interview with Labake Akinyosoye

What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
Being allowed to dream. It's the only job I never have to nag myself into getting up and doing.
What do your fans mean to you?
Freedom, I guess? Their support allows me to do a job that makes me happy, which I'm very grateful for.
I can only hope my work brings them some enjoyment in return.
What are you working on next?
A multi-generational story set in more than one world, about three very different young women/girls.
I'm also producing an upcoming action movie, and polishing volume 2 of the Yomi Olola mysteries, Bloodstained Brass.
Who are your favorite authors?
That's a long list, ranging from youthful favourites like Roald Dahl and Jude Devereux to later discoveries like Sidney Sheldon, Judith Krantz, Wole Soyinka and Chinua Achebe.
I find particular novels from my youth left their mark with me in a very strong way.
Books like 'Roots' by Alex Haley, 'Animal Farm' by George Orwell, 'The Slave girl' by Buchi Emecheta, ' Lord of the Flies' by William Golding,' I know why the caged bird sings' by Maya Angelou and 'The picture of Dorian Gray' by Oscar Wilde, to name just a few. I've read so many books,though, that it's near impossible for me to pick a favourite author.
What motivated you to become an indie author?
Creative freedom, I suppose?
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
Watching TV shows and movies, spending time with friends and family and eating;
Food is a MAJOR hobby.
