Interview with Cleo Wodehouse

Describe your desk
I could but that's not where I write :)
What motivated you to become an indie author?
The fact that sharing my work with like-minded people for free or little money clashes with the mindset of the publishing industry.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
a) Fooling - and seriousing - around with language
b) Filling the need in the romance sector for physically and emotionally imperfect characters
What's the story behind your latest book?
My latest book is still being edited, but the background is an eating disorder I struggled with for ten years.
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
Yes, with utter embarrassment.
What is your writing process?
I snag and write down whatever bits and pieces drift by. Over time the gaps fill and it becomes a story. Then I revise about 150 times.
What is your e-reading device of choice?
An old Kindle. As a clumsy person prone to dropping even the most expensive of items, I like to stick to primeval, cheaply replaceable devices.
How do you approach cover design?
I like to connect the cover with the title, so I usually have a rough idea. Then I access fiverr.com and browse around in my favorite designers' stockphotos. I pick what I need and let them do their magic.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
Remodeling the house, singing, drawing, sewing. NEVER cooking :)
What are you working on next?
My first novel in omniscient POV that allows me to unleash all that circumlocutious verbiage :)
