Interview with Jonie Alcorn

When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
Raising my awesome kids, working on my Ministry, which involves giving women, as well as men, a new start at life, a life of freedom! I also love riding my motorcycle...
What is your writing process?
Well, my writing process includes locking myself in my room, Sometimes my closet, and I just write. I gain inspiration through songs, knowledge from the Lord, and mostly life experiences...
What do you read for pleasure?
I like to read about things that give me encouragement, that educate me and that can further my knowledge in my particular field. I also enjoy funny books on raising families and the humor we all must have as mothers to endure certain things.
What is your e-reading device of choice?
I read on my Android.
What book marketing techniques have been most effective for you?
Constant showing on social media. Social media is very important for authors. Especially self-published authors. Blogs, twitter, fundraisers, facebook, etc.
Describe your desk
Oh, this is embarrassing, but my desk is a mess! I have pieces of paper that I write on when inspiration strikes. Fortunately, or hmm...unfortunately: whichever, is often because there everywhere.
How would you help others reach their goals
I would and will give advice to those who ask, I would never ignore those looking up to me for help. And would definitely not just let them learn on their own...
When did you first start writing?
2003 when the Lord told me to write what I was going through. I always loved books, book fairs and libraries, but never imagined I'd be an author.
What's the story behind your latest book?
How the Lord delivered me from Methadone and completely changed my character. Not only that, He changed my husband and saved Him, through the process of my deliverance.
What motivated you to become an indie author?
I wanted to tell my story the way the Lord wanted it told, not the way someone wanted to edit it, to fit them.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
Getting all my feelings, frustrations, joy, and experiences out there to let people know... It's not just you, and your not alone.
