Interview with Victor Living

What is your e-reading device of choice?
For a long time the Fire Kindle Tablet is my favorite. Since I read a lot of literature about the history of art and philosophy, it is very important for me to see pictures in colors.
How do you approach cover design?
Once I met a very interesting and eccentric person. As I realized later, he was an actor, philosopher, and politician in one face. He told me a story, and it wasn't clear, how he found himself near a monument in the form of unit. It was tall almost several thousand floors. But not the immenseness and height surprised him the most. He wondered by the words engraved on the tables of this statue. It said like "… the First Phase of the development of mankind has ended and it will be no longer a situation when the historical figures, as the main figures, guide humanity..." Can you imagine that? That's how the idea was born, and I found the splendid artist Mike Sheldon. After an explanation of the biggest nuances about appearance on my cover such the figure, he helps also me with the intrigue to make a reader think: what this symbol is?
When did you first start writing?
Oh, it happened when I was eight years old. It was a Passage-poem dedicated to my mother on Mother's Day. This work spoke about dawn as the beginning of this day. I didn't yet understand what was going on in the world, but I wanted the whole planet get peace, and no any trouble enter any house on such a bright day. I remember how my mom worried and told the father that I was born a poet. She guessed those people have not an easy fate.
What motivated you to become an indie author?
That is the understanding to publish the book traditionally needs to go a long way. But I want today to show myself to people with my works of art.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
That is the moment of the day when I have a chance to catch the 'creativeness hours.'
What are you working on next?
The next in my plan is to continue and complete Book Two as the part of the trilogy "Figures of the One Must Go." And the key is the same: the symbolical logo-roots are touchstones of major issues in our society.
What do you read for pleasure?
Maybe it will look ridiculous, but since I'm a big fan of anecdotes, I have a collection of jokes from many countries. It makes me very relaxed especially after high concentration when I do writing.
Who are your favorite authors?
I have many favorite authors, but I would like to highlight only those whom I want to re-read. For example, the John Grisham is my guide in the Law world. I adore him for novels "The Firm," "The Client," and especially "The Kings of Torts." Also, I feel the permanent presence of Danielle Steel in my life. If I recall her novels "Jewels," "Star," and 'Silent Honor" I'll wish to put away all my work and read the thing from 'A' to 'Z.' I learn from her to be laconic but thoughtful. And for sure I must remind a Scott Sigler with his novel "Pandemic" and T.C. Boyle with his "Stories Two." And I can conclude: they are my brothers-sister-teachers.
What is your writing process?
I can compare it when an airplane comes off the ground and then flattens out on the high altitude. I feel at that moment like I moved in the world of words, phrases, epithets, metaphors, and allegories. It means for me that I'm not present at this time on planet Earth. And I allow you even to sneer or laugh at me, but I love such "fly."
What book marketing techniques have been most effective for you?
I want to note that this is only the second month of my publication. But I already have my website; it's called "www. authorvictorliving.com" Also, I registered with Ingram Sparks, Smashwords and have a big list "to do" from creation of email list to the video about the presentation of my book.
