Interview with Loretta M. Miller

When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
With my partner, Bonnie and our dog, Millie. She's a toy poodle/yorkie mix, emphasis on the poodle! She's a rescue, we've had her a year and a half.
How do you discover the ebooks you read?
Looking through various booksellers websites. Depending on my mood, I can easily pick up a non-fiction, biography or science fiction fantasy.
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
Oh gosh. There were plenty that I wrote but never finished. Why? Because I had such a fear of failure that I felt that if it wasn't complete I could always go to the excuse, "well, it's a work in progress." That is, until one day when I was asked, "this is good, where's the rest?" That gave me the push to finish stories. Then, when I received good reviews from readers of my completed stories, I knew that my stories held some value.
How do you approach cover design?
Intuitively. Naturally I want to have a cover design that is appropriate to the story and one unique enough to capture people's attention. There's a LOT of competition out there! Cost is another consideration, but, I normally get a picture of the cover in my mind's eye and then I try to duplicate that the very best way I can.

The reality of life is that you rarely, if ever, get a second chance. Rarer still is the opportunity to see a new perspective before it's too late. Normally, we rely on hindsight to shed light on what would otherwise remain in darkness. Paul Henderson's company is failing and he's going down the wrong road. It takes a serendipitous encounter to finally help him to see.
