Interview with Misty Rice

How do you discover the ebooks you read?
I read a lot of MC Erotic Romance, I tend to hunt for free Kindle books on Amazon or 99c ones unless it's an author I support a friend or otherwise.
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
Not really I was a child pretty young.
What is your writing process?
I put on my headphones with Pandora on. I open Word and go to work and if I get stuck I always have at least 3-4 other projects I am working on at the same time so my time is always useful.
How do you approach cover design?
I think of the main characters and how the story reflects around them and it usually gives me an idea of the theme of the cover. I am picky on my cover designers as I want them to share in my vision.
What are your five favorite books, and why?
Alana Sapphire's Death Dealers MC books all 5 of them.
What do you read for pleasure?
Oh yes and I also do it for paid freelance work
What is your e-reading device of choice?
Kindle of course
What book marketing techniques have been most effective for you?
Author Takeover Events on Facebook and if you don't know what that is ask any author on Facebook
What's the story behind your latest book?
Desiree Quake is 42 years old, a mother of two, plus sized, and a widow. She led a very vanilla sex life with her husband but it was a happy one. Her daughter Dana has found true love with her girlfriend and checks in on her while her brother Julian ignores their mom since their father’s death. Desiree has ignored all her friend Cammy’s invitations to go out on dates and move on. Until she finally gives in and has a date with someone where there aren’t any sparks. She thought the night was over until Her friend decides to go out dancing and drag her along. What happens after that surprises even her. Rio Slade enters her life and the things he does and what he makes her do will heat up the sheets and blow her mind.
What motivated you to become an indie author?
The freedom, no one telling you what to name your book, how to write, what your deadline is and the fact it can be published for free! Yes, you pay for your own editing, cover, marketing and other things but its worth it.
