Interview with Mindy Mather

What are you working on next?
Currently I'm working on a new story, but details about that will come later, though I do have a sequel to A Tragic Miracle in the works as well!
Who are your favorite authors?
I really like Keri Arthur's Guardians Series, its a paranormal alternate universe series with werewolves, vampires, etc and is very entertaining. I also like Historical Romances from many various authors, to many to name lol
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
When I'm not writing, I enjoy reading, watching tv and movies, and playing my Sims 2 PC game making videos on it or just playing the game for fun :)
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
I can't say that I remember the first story I ever wrote, but I do remember some of my stories from when I was younger. They were usually about animals of some kind or even dinosaurs and I would draw pictures to go along with them.
What is your writing process?
My writing process is mainly just me going with whatever pops into my head for each chapter in a story. I spend a lot of time thinking about what will happen next when I'm in the shower or even when I'm asleep etc. In fact, because thinking about so many different ideas at once has kept me awake many nights, I often refer to it as Writer's Curse lol but I love it :)
What do you read for pleasure?
As I mentioned before, I love Historical Romances the best. Ones that are set in 1800s London specifically. They are so entertaining and sometimes make me wish I had lived in that time period.
When did you first start writing?
I first started writing when I was very young, I'd say in the 4th grade is when I can remember the most. I would draw pictures and write paragraphs on the bottom explaining what was happening. I began writing more in high school when I learned how to type in my Freshman year.
What's the story behind your latest book?
My latest book which I'm still currently writing was actually inspired from a group of Sims characters that I created years ago that I thought would make an interesting novel. It is much the same with how I got inspired to write A Tragic Miracle which started out as a Sims 2 Machinima series that can be seen on youtube.
What motivated you to become an indie author?
I've had my book finished for several months and didn't want to wait any longer to share it with people. Waiting for an actual publishing company where there is always the possibility of being rejected 9 times out of 10 wasn't ideal for me.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
I just love writing because it allows me to de-stress and escape reality whenever I enter into the world of my characters. It's fun to bring to life in such a way and its just something I have always loved to do.
