Interview with Madame Sossette

Published 2013-09-19.
Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
The first story I remember reading on my own was a tale of a princess who decided that she didn't need men in her life. Indeed, a prince came along and did all her tasks, so she kissed him and turned him into a toad, it always made me feel pleased.

I grew up reading and have loved slipping into the magic that are good stories and fun times. It was always a great place to escape too.
How do you approach cover design?
I like to cover myself with paint and run screaming at a blank canvas... Then I take photos, mail it to artist friend and pay them to make them for me,
What are your five favorite books, and why?
Jurassic park, taught me about section ing, and DINOSAURS

Alice in wonderland, my all time favourite book. Love the story and the quirky.

The Harry potter series, which reminded me it is ok to walk that dark path and still feel hope

The Dresden files, which taught me that beating up your main character is ok, and sometimes fun

Kiss My Tiara, a sassy, fun novel about female empowerment which taught me that speaking your mind is a fantastic way to be confident with your own skin.
What do you read for pleasure?
Books. Anything that I can get my hands on.

I adore reading.
What is your e-reading device of choice?
My IPad. Can't help it, I'm an apple snob.
What book marketing techniques have been most effective for you?
Finishing the book and having it available for sale.
Describe your desk
Creatively filed clutter looked over by my three wise monkies.
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I grew up in a rural town, I was always lonely so I would escape into books. This influenced my writing by teaching me good English skills and how to capture other readers.
When did you first start writing?
In primary school. I used to write plays and musicals for my classmates to perform with me.
What's the story behind your latest book?
I work for an animal shelter, I've always been interested in dog training. The question came up, could you train a human with a clicker too?

Apparently one of the trainers had her two year old clicker trained, I simply applied it to the Fetish Community.
What motivated you to become an indie author?
Let's face it, I'm a sock puppet. No publishing house is going to take me seriously. I have to make my own way.
How do you discover the ebooks you read?
Sometimes I am looking for books on a particular subject.

Each month though I play a game where I look through the top 100 and also do random word searches to find books I may like.
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
It may not be the first story I ever wrote. But a very early story that I wrote in year two was based on the dinosaurs from the land before time.

They had an adventure.

What I really remember was writing "again and again and again and again" over and over to finish the last few pages of my work book.

Compulsive, even back then
What is your writing process?
I smash my head against the keys and interesting words come out.

Then I turn on my dictation software and read what is on the screen... The dictation software interprets what I say and writes these awesome books.

I call it the pot luck approach.
