Interview with Maggie Dail

What do your readers mean to you?
My readers mean so much to me. I appreciate the opportunity to share information that can help families deal with different issues.
What are you working on next?
Summer of 2017, I will publish a combination of three short stories highlighting three learning challenges and how the neurodevelopmental approach overcome these challenges. After that, I will publish a book on brain research. Understanding how the brain works helps overcome learning challenges.
What is your favorite genre?
For my own personal reading for pleasure, I love to read biographies and historical fiction. Of course, I do quite a bit of academic reading in my field as well.
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
My God, my husband, my readers and my students get me up each day.
What is your e-reading device of choice?
For e-book reading, I use my smart phone with a Kindle app.
What motivated you to become an indie author?
Becoming an indie author grew out of the desire to maintain control over my writing.
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I grew up in a military home with 7 siblings. We moved every three years or so. I struggled in school so I was a late bloomer in regards to writing. As an older adult, I think of all of the experiences I had as I was growing up and living in foreign countries that could have inspired writing. Even though I wished I had begun writing sooner, it is never too late.
When did you first start writing?
I started writing as an adult. Since I struggled in school, it took more time for me to realize that I could write.
What's the story behind your latest book?
Using Biographies to Teach Writing - Biographies from Church History has grown from reading and enjoying them as well as teaching students of all ages to write. I enjoy helping my students grow to love reading and writing.
How has Smashwords contributed to your success?
Smashwords has provided a great outlet to many e-book distributors. Using the Styleguide has been most helpful.
