Published 2021-04-25.
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
It was a story about animal tracks in the snow. I was about seven-years-Old when I wrote it.
What is your writing process?
I generally start with a idea generated from a song I was listening to. Music often creates a visual image in my mind that I translate into a story.
How do you approach cover design?
I use Selfpubbookcovers.com to select an image that I can modify into a fantastic cover. If I don't find an image I like there, I have Victoria Brotherson create a cover for me. The covers must identify with the story.
What are your five favorite books, and why?
Steppenwolf by Hermann Hesse because it is deep thinking and reflects societal views.
Nights In Rodanthe I like the struggle to find love and overcome obstacles on the way to happiness.
The Haunting of Hill House. Sufficiently creepy and scary without the gore.
Blueberry Summer A childhood favorite about a girl who falls in love with a rogue.
Anything by Ray Bradbury because his stories evoke emotions, are whimsical, scary, and adventurous.
What do you read for pleasure?
Just about anything.
What is your e-reading device of choice?
Kindle
What book marketing techniques have been most effective for you?
Twitter, Facebook, Church, Instagram
Describe your desk
A cluttered kitchen table
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I grew up all over the U.S. This allowed me to meet people from all backgrounds and gave me a wide perspective of the human condition
When did you first start writing?
I was six years old when I first tried to write a story. It was about finding a set of animal tracks and following them. My next attempt was in the fourth grade. That story was published. I've been writing ever since but didn't start publishing until three years.
What's the story behind your latest book?
It is the story of finding true love. It's a clean and wholesome romantic story for all ages.
What are you working on next?
I am working on book 5 in the Ride With Harley series. It is titled Harley's Legacy.
