Interview with Mark K Jordan

Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
That question assumes that I've grown up! I've spent about 48 years of my life in Texas (since 1967). The significance that varsity, scholarship and professional sports have in this area impact physical activity and competition very much. In Texas, sports may not be everything but many would think that it comes close. Reacting to that degree of competition influenced me to develop my own diet exercise and nutritional experiences and then write about them.
When did you first start writing?
I began technical writing for medical research publications many years ago. This book was completed in April of 2015.
What's the story behind your latest book?
The story behind this book came from so many people asking me what I did to obtain a Guinness World Record. Upon answering, many became surprised when my answer emphasized the importance of the mental psychological conditioning over the physical training. I realized that my preparation methods had been applied in other areas of my life and also learned that others could successfully use them to reach their desired goals.
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
I'm inspired by the gifts I receive from interacting with others. I learn, I grow and I embrace the experiences others share. I've been able to guide direct and inspire others with my experiences. Each day is a new and exciting adventure that enlightens my journey!
What are you working on next?
People are always asking me about my next conquest. Is it another record? Another book? Or what? I say that there are always possibilities for another record or other books, but right now, I'm charged with a personal mission. That mission is to inform as many people as possible that it is never too late to start to make a personal difference in your life and well-being, and that age is truly just a number which shouldn't be considered a limitation, but rather an asset of knowledge and experience. I believe that we all have the ability to make that 'working on next' as special, as significant and as wonderful as we'd like for it to be. Sometimes, we just need to be shown the steps that are used in order to experience it!

The steps emphasize the importance of the mindset that was used. This approach can be used to achieve any significant goal. It is not limited to athletic goals nor is it only for athletes.
