Interview with Stephanie Pericich

Your most recently published book is about travel-- what is your favorite travel destination?
If I had to pick just one, it would be Nerja in southern Spain. For me, that place was pure magic.
What are you working on next?
I'm slowly but surely making progress on a book of poetry. Occasionally I will pen a dark and/or introspective poem, but the majority of my poems are lighthearted while still conveying a message.
What is your writing process?
I tend to write in little pockets of time. I find that my best time for writing is mid-morning; certainly it would be very convenient to write every night after my son goes to bed, but my creative juices tend not to flow during that timeframe.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
My greatest joy is when people read something that I have written and exclaim, "I can totally relate to that!" If my writing prompts readers to reminisce about something that they have done, or inspire them to try something new, then I feel as though I've achieved my goal.
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
I'm not a morning person...let's just say that first cup of tea really helps.
