What do you read for pleasure?
The Newspaper, psychology books, historical accounts, Sports Illustrated, Coaching and Sports Psychology Books.
What is your e-reading device of choice?
I don't have one.
What book marketing techniques have been most effective for you?
Word of mouth and my children and current and ex-players and students promoting for me.
Describe your desk
Messy on my best days.
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I grew up the son of a career Navy man. We lived in Philadelphia, PA, upstate New York, Alameda, CA & Browns Mills, NJ. My Dad retired from the Navy when I was 16 and we moved to Ely, MN. I have lived in Minnesota ever since. Lake Park, Wadena, Norwood-Young America and Hibbing. My writing is definitely influenced by moving around the country when I was young and the humor is definitely midwestern.
When did you first start writing?
I'll say officially in 2011.
What's the story behind your latest book?
The book I am currently working on is called More Random Thoughts of a Stupid Man [A little older, but none the wiser.
What motivated you to become an indie author?
Just wanted to record some thoughts to share with my family and friends and it has grown from there.
How has Smashwords contributed to your success?
Yet to be seen, this is my first experience operating with Smashwords directly.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
Sharing my thoughts for whatever they are worth. I hope people who read them are touched on many levels.
What do your fans mean to you?
I didn't know I had fans!
Who are your favorite authors?
Ed Nordskog and Dr. Suess
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
My family and my job. Also because I have to get up and stretch, I have Rheumatoid Arthritis. Any day that isn't enough, it is usually time to go to the bathroom or I have to shovel before I go to work.
What are you working on next?
Two projects: More Random Thoughts of a Stupid Man & A Guide to Junior High.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
Coaching and teaching or time with my wife.
How do you discover the ebooks you read?
I have never read an e-book.
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
I wrote a story about my sister Terri.
What is your writing process?
Think it out, take a lot of notes and type when the time is available.
