Interview with Michelle Mason Rocks

What are your five favorite books, and why?
Think and Grow Rich, E2, and One Minute Millionaire are great books to learn about the Law of Attraction.
I learned a lot about going after my dreams and changing my life for the better from Nora Roberts' "Jewels of the Sun".
Sophie's World changed my view of reality, our world, and sparked an interest in Quantum Physics.
What do you read for pleasure?
Romance novels (Jude Deveraux, Nora Roberts), Sci-Fi Fantasy (Robert Heinlein, Spider Robinson), anything by Tamora Pierce, or whatever non-fiction strikes my fancy at the time. Hands down, my favorite author is Spider Robinson, who taught me about love, friendship, forgiveness, and new beginnings.
What is your writing process?
I'm always jotting down notes on receipts, on envelopes, and napkins. Then the notes get moved to their own pages in my notebook, where I start structuring and organizing and brainstorming. Once I have all that abbreviated info completed, I move to the computer to begin writing the content. I write, write, write, revise, and write some more. When the writing is done, the editing begins. Once I've edited 3 times, I print out and read aloud to check for errors, and that everything flows.

Oh, and I always listen to 80's rock when I'm editing.
What will readers NOT find in your books?
No negativity, no hatred or violence, no bigotry, no politics, no explicit language. I keep it clean, positive, and uplifting.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
Taking care of my 4 year old daughter, spending time with my 21 year old son, running my household. My husband and I spend a lot of time together, just talking and enjoying each other's presence; he is my best friend and a wonderful inspiration. I like to read, play seek and find games on my computer, and I really enjoy playing Texas Hold 'Em poker.
What's the story behind your latest book?
So many have been struggling due to the recession, so I compiled all the skills I have mastered on how to spend less on everything.

Mastering the Art of Spending Less has: Negotiation Skills, How to Barter, How to really make couponing work (without spending 30 hours a week on it like in Extreme Couponing), How to find the best deals, How to save at the register of Any store when there's not a sale and no couponing, How to reduce all your utility bills, How to pay off your mortgage faster, How to talk your way out of a moving violation ticket, How to save on your cell phone bills, How to reduce rent deposits, How to vacation for less (far less), and all the skills and tools I have used to NEVER pay full price, ever, for anything.
What motivated you to become an indie author?
I have a lot to say!

I have 41 years of life experiences that are incredible and contain valuable lessons. I have amazing things that have happened to me, a great sense of humor, and a gift for captivating an audience.

It took me 41 years to find my voice, and now that I have, I'm talking to my friends all over the world.
What are you working on next?
How to improve any area of your life by the correct use of the Law of Attraction.
I have successfully used LOA to improve relationships, get internationally published, obtain money, and improve my health. I am so excited to be sharing these teachings with others, it's going to be great!
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
My greatest joy is when a reader tells me that something I wrote helped them. It changed their life in some way, big or small. Whether it made their day a little better, made them laugh, or stimulated a huge epiphany, I take joy in helping and healing my friends on this journey we're all on together.
