Interview with Montse R Franco

What do your fans mean to you?
I don't have any fans... not yet at least, but if I ever have them, they will be everything to me, because they will help me to fulfill my dream of being a full-time writer
What are you working on next?
For now, just short stories. I have something in mind that cuold actually become a novel, but first I want to see what I can do, if people actually like what I write... Phearps then I will think about publishing a novel.
Who are your favorite authors?
J.K.Rowling is my top. I will lie if I say she's not my inspiration.
Mostly, I like fantasy and medieval themes, so I love Tolkien and George Martin too. But there's a lot of authors it would take to long to name.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
Reading. Mostly reading. In my opinion you can't be a great writer if you don't read, so, I los reading.
I like to spend time at free air too, I like fight with medieval weapons and go camping... things like those...
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
Yeah. It was about a beaver who wanted to fly... I was like seven years old.I never finished it, but I remember it had two endings: in the first one the beaver stole some crow wings and he fell from a cliff (I know, I'm lovely).
In the second one, (the one which they made me wrote because the first one was "inappropriate") the beaver met an eagle and she lets him fly on her back.
Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
I think the first one was a short story about a errant house... But I was too young to remember it.
Then, when I was six or seven, I started reading Harry Potter.
When did you first start writing?
I had always liked to write, since I can remember. I used to create fictional friends and worlds to be when I was sad or bored... Then, I started writing what I imagine and... well, it grow until this point... I can barely go a day without writing at least a couple of pages.
I really love going into the worlds I create.
What's the story behind your latest book?
I can't say it's a book, but the latest story I have been working in, it's about a young woman who has this perfect life and it start falling apart when her father shows up at her wedding.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
Getting out of what I live day to day and entering in a world that's entirely mine. I think what I like the most is having the complete control of what I write, not having to do what they told me to.
Describe your desk
I have my computer on the left, a jotter and a notebook, several pens and pencils, two lamps, a picture of my pets, this little black dragon and several post it.
I always try to have it in order, but i find it really hard. :S
