I love to share knowledge. I write about BDSM, which is a major factor in my life. I've lived in D/s relationships for most of my adult life and earned my living through kink for nearly a decade now. I want to be able to share the passion and joy that BDSM has brought me. I'm also quite vigilant when it comes to safety, so that is a big focus of my writing. Because kink is still underground (even with the success of books like 50 Shades) there isn't a lot out there that tells you how to do it safely. I'm happy to help fill the void.
What do your fans mean to you?
It makes me happy to know that I've touched someone's life and had a positive impact. I know I wouldn't be where I am today without the support of my fans. I love meeting new people and hearing their stories.
What are you working on next?
I'm giving myself a month to relax after writing my first book (and I'm going to be doing some traveling, so I want to focus on having fun). Next up will be an anthology on female dominance and another book on skills for BDSM.
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
I love to travel. Part of what I love about writing is that it gives me the freedom to move around and travel. I hope one day to be able to make enough that I can write and travel indefinitely.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
I spend a lot of time engaged in kink. I'm attending classes, conferences, parties or just staying at home with my submissive. We do enjoy traveling when his schedule allows. I love the outdoors, so we go camping and backpacking often too.
What is your writing process?
I try to be methodical - constructing an outline and sticking to it. I'm not always the best at following the rules, even the ones I make, so I do deviate from the plan occasionally. I have remind myself to focus and stick to the plan.
How do you approach cover design?
Thankfully my partner is a very talented artist. We brainstorm ideas for a cover image and then I let him work his magic.
What do you read for pleasure?
I love fantasy novels. Dragons and elves. I want to be transported into a new world so that I can relax and forget about all the stressful stuff here in reality.
What's the story behind your latest book?
I wanted to write about something I was passionate about. Everyone thought I would write about medical play, but it seemed too overwhelming for my first attempt at a book. I don't know why I thought classic discipline would be any different!
What motivated you to become an indie author?
I've dreamed of being a writer since I was young. I've been freelance writing for a few years now, with varying degrees of success. I wanted to have something that would complement the classes I teach so that people had something to take home. This seemed like a way to accomplish all of those things.
What is your e-reading device of choice?
I don't have one! I'm a physical book type of person. I am looking to get one soon since books are heavy when you're traveling.
